M and K Mills, (MTS) who is the City of Underwood’s Contractor for Garbage services will no longer be picking up Recycling beginning September 1, 2025. The last recycling pickup will be WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27, 2025. Moving forward – the City is partnering with Pottawattamie County, who has ordered a recycling container that will arrive anywhere between 2-3 months from now. The anticipated date is October 1, 2025, but could be earlier or later. The location (to be finalized) will be near the City Shop at the end of 3rd Street on Milwaukee, hopefully by October 1, 2025. There will be more information as we get closer to receiving it. There will be the option to recycle newspaper, plastic and cardboard. NO GLASS. During the month of September, you can take items yourself to the Pottawattamie County Recycling Center located at 41911 Industrial Dr, Oakland, Iowa, Or: Council Bluffs Recycling Center has various containers throughout the city.
